Ingredients:
Peeled off Almonds – 1 cup
(Leave almonds soaked in water for 4-5 hours to peel it off easily)
Sugar – 1 cup
Cardamom powder – ¼ teaspoon
Desi ghee (unsalted butter) – ¾ cup
Milk – 1 cup
Kesar (saffron) – 8 to 10 Strands
Time to Cook
Peel off the Almonds after soaking them in water for 4-5 hours.
Now put almonds and milk in a grinder and make an almond paste.
On medium flame, add one spoon of unsalted butter to a pan. Now add the almond paste and sugar into it. Mix it well. Stir fry the mixture until it turns light brown.
Continuously stir it fry to prevent it from sticking to a pan on low to medium flame.
Add Kesar strands into warm milk for 5 minutes and then add this milk to the pan. you can add 2 drops of yellow food color it’s totally optional, I used organic color.
Then add a little more ghee to the mixture, you can add the remaining ghee or butter to make it greasier, it’s all your preference, how much you want.
Add cardamom powder to it. After a minute, it will be ready as it will not be sticking to the pan.
Turn off the flame and put this mixture in a bowl and garnish it with your favorite, and roughly chopped, dry fruits. Your delicious Almond Halwa is ready.
