I would like to share my recipe of the Till Barfi that will be perfect for this festival. Generally, we use Mawa (मावा) to prepare Burfi. But as we know that we cannot trust the quality of mawa now a days especially during Navratre Fasting. So, I used Milk Powder instead of Mawa (मावा) and it will taste just like Mawa (मावा) Burfi.
It is very easy to make. Let me share the details, hope you will enjoy this home-made Burfi.
Ingredients:
Sesame Seeds (Till) – 1 Cup
Milk Powder – 1 Cup
Sugar – 1 Cup
Milk – ½ Cup
Butter (Unsalted) – 2 Tbsp
Dry Fruits (Pistachios / Cashews / or Whatever you like) – 15 to 20
Green Cardamom – 5 to 6
Process:
Start by adding Sesame seeds in a pan and dry roast on medium flame until seeds get little brown and crunchy. It is important to keep stirring while roasting (Otherwise they will be over heated and Sesame seeds will turn bitter in taste). Now keep them aside.
Take the dry fruits and chop them roughly into small pieces.
Grind the cardamom to get a fine cardamom powder.
Take ¾ of the Sesame seeds and grind them and leave the remaining as it is.
Heat the Pan and melt the butter in it. On a low medium flame, add Milk and Milk Powder to the Pan. Keep stirring and cook until, it becomes thick like mawa.
Now turn down the flame to low flame, add powdered sugar to the pan and mix well.
Add Grounded Till and the left-over Tills, dry fruits and cardamom powder.
Stir until everything is mixed and it become creamy consistency in texture.
Now turn off the flame and spread the mixture on a greased plate. Smooth it with a spoon and leave it to set.
Let it cool for at least one and half hour.
After, it cools down, you can cut the Burfi of your choice and shape.
The Till Milk Powder Burfi is Ready. You can store it in a container, and you get your own home-made Burfi that will taste excellent.
Please try out this recipe and share your experience.
